Step aboard one of our traditional heritage carriages and enjoy a magical Christmas journey through the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
During your approximately 1 hour 45 minute return journey, our mischievous elves will roam through the train bringing festive fun, singalongs and Christmas cheer. Santa will visit every table, spending a few minutes with each family, posing for photos and presenting a gift to every child aged 10 months and over.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of heritage rail travel while taking in the beautiful Highland scenery. Every child aged 10 months and over will receive a festive activity book and a special gift from Santa, helping to create memories that will last long after Christmas has passed.
This is our classic Santa's Elf Express experience and offers fantastic festive fun for the whole family.
Important Information
· Travel in a festively decorated heritage carriage
· Tables seat up to 4 passengers (a limited number of 2 seater tables are also available)
· Elf Express Experience tickets are sold as fixed-price tables: Table for up to 2 passengers or Table for up to 4 passengers
· No individual tickets available
· No concessionary fares available
· The price is per table, not per person. If fewer passengers travel than the table's capacity, the price remains the same.
· Standard Elf Express tables have a maximum capacity and we cannot accommodate additional passengers at these tables. We are unable to make exceptions to this policy.
· Toddlers under 3 may sit on laps and do not count towards table capacity
· Toddlers under 3 require a £5 toddler ticket, please add this to your basket before checking out
· Children aged 3 and over require their own seat and count towards the maximum capacity of the table.
· Babies under 10 months travelling in arms or a sling travel free (no ticket required)
· Children aged 10 months+ receive a Santa gift and festive activity book
· No food or drink provided with this ticket. A trolley service is available on-board, with a selection of drinks and snacks available to purchase. There is an on-board bar available. You can bring your own food on-board but we ask that you kindly remove your waste at the end of the journey.
· You will be allocated a carriage, but tables within that carriage are unreserved. Where possible, all passengers within the same booking will be placed in the same carriage.
· If friends or family have booked separately and would like to travel together, please contact us with all booking reference numbers and we will do our best to accommodate your request
· DOGS: For the safety and comfort of all on board, we regret that dogs are NOT permitted on any Xmas Train service. Assistance dogs are permitted. To ensure smooth access; please carry an Assistance Dog ID card or have the dog wear a specific harness.
· *Please be aware: We always aim to deliver a steam-hauled service however, on occasion, due to operational issues, it may be necessary to substitute for a heritage diesel engine, to ensure we can deliver the scheduled service. Refunds and cancellations are not available in these circumstances.
Wheelchair Space +1 / Wheelchair Space +2
- Wheelchair Space +1 (wheelchair user plus one seated companion)
- Wheelchair Space +2 (wheelchair user plus two seated companions)
A small side table is provided, however the standard carriage table and a bench seat have been removed to create the wheelchair space.
- Please only book these tickets if a member of your party will remain in a wheelchair during the journey
- The ticket price is a fixed price for the wheelchair space plus the stated number of accompanying passengers
- These tickets are not suitable for ambulant disabled passengers who do not require a wheelchair space
- Wheelchair users enjoy the same Santa's Elf Express experience as passengers in our standard heritage carriages
- Santa and the elves will visit this carriage
- Children aged 10 months+ receive a Santa gift and festive activity book
